Metaullics System acquires EMP Technologies Ltd PDF  | Print |  Email

Electromagnetic Pump: one of the two main components of the EMP system Metaullics Systems have just acquired EMP Technologies Ltd, the UK based, worldwide leader in high technology electromagnetic melting and circulation systems for the aluminium industry. Combining the best of Metaullics and EMP provides the industry with a single source for molten metal circulation and light gauge scrap melting.

The systems manufactured and sold by EMP are comprised of a high performance electromagnetic pump which circulates molten aluminium in reverberatory furnaces through a patented chamber. This aids in the melting of light gauge scrap, such as turnings, crushed sheet and other difficult-to-submerge materials and greatly improves the recovery rate normally achieved with such charge materials. It also significantly improves the productivity and thermal efficiency of the total furnace system. The unique, high capacity electromagnetic pump has no moving parts and has established a reputation for reliability with nearly 40 installations worldwide.

EMP Technologies will continue to operate as a semi-autonomous company within the Metaullics family but will take advantage of Metaullics' regional sales and technical capabilities where appropriate. They will continue to operate from their Burton-on-Trent UK offices. Further information on EMP Technologies can be found on their website at www.emptechnologies.com
